Yousif's 'Black rain" and related works are a monumental task, both in size and ambition. Through these he constructs documents of the past, of expatriation, lost places and lost memories. Set against the backdrop of Iraq there is an unavoidable implication of pain, this is negotiated through collage and paint, uneasy and oblique, imaginary afterimages.
