Single video projection installation with 14 x foam board (13.5 x 13.5cm)

 

time’s a revelator explores the relationship between the whole and its components as well as pointing to the role time plays in revealing what may initially be unseen.

The work consists of multiple sections of a single moving image shot from a train driver’s viewpoint in Tokyo. Each of these fragments are projected onto small individual square screens suspended in the space. 

Initially, a single moving image is seen on one of the many screens and overtime, more segments appears  on the screens. Various different directions of movements depicted on each screen makes it unclear as to whether the images are connected to each other or not. As the train journey unfolds, enough visual information becomes available to allow the viewer to extrapolate what the bigger picture is.
